Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very efficient Looks good. Once you snap handle into the body you can't remove it to rebox. You are wiping the floor with cold or tepid water. I found the water left on surface after cleaning was dirty and had to wipe over entire surface before it dried. It's quite heavy and not free standing. Lay it down or slot into cradle. Two rollers similar to paint rollers have to be removed - fiddly - and air dried. I was left with impression that floor was not clean - I wiped them over to dry off and fully remove dirty water residue. Not impressed and I will not be using this machine in my home again Product Tester Club

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product! I was sent the FC5 Hard Floor Cleaner by Kaercher to review as part of their Product Testing Club. Mostly positive things to say about this product. It's pretty simple to use and super efficient. I love that the rollers can be chucked in the washing machine, meaning they can be used again and again. Definitely a huge benefit! Negatively, it seems a lot of effort for such a small amount of hard space in my current flat. It's simple to use but will take more time sorting it all out then actually using it. (Luckily I'm moving house soon to mostly laminate flooring, so I can't wait!) Overall, great product, simple to use, great for lots of hard floors!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing on an unpolished floor. This may work well on polished floors (wood and ceramic), but it is only as good as mopping, it is not the same as scrubbing. So it does not clean in between tiles or in the surface imperfections of natural or imitation natural tiles. For me it is no better than a steam cleaner that is 1/3 of the price. Sending it back and buying a mop and long handled scrubbing brush. If you can do a light mopping (no scrubbing) and get your floor clean then this might be for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was sent this product to review and overall was left feeling a bit indifferent about the product. Firstly I really struggled to get the handle to click in to place, I literally spent a good 15 minutes trying to get the handle to "click" and stay there, but everytime it clicked it just come out again. In the end I decided that it must be broken and ended up cleaning without the handle being in properly so that every time I cleaned the handle kept coming out. I attempted it again using every bit of my strength and eventually it locked in to place, but I'm a pretty fit woman and I did wonder how my Nan would get on trying to do this herself. I found the instructions clear to use and I found setting up and using the product straight forward. It took a while to figure out that if I held the on button for long enough the machine would stay on by itself but originally I was having to keep the button held down which was aching my hand and there aren't any instructions to tell you otherwise. The cleaner struggled a bit going over uneven tiles, and I found if there was particularly stubborn stains that I had to put a lot of elbow grease in to it, which is quite difficult as the product I found to be quite heavy. By time I finished cleaning my arm was aching! I was also disappointed as the cleaner kept leaking out of the pipes from the water tank to the rollers and I thought if I had bought the product for £225 I would've been returning it. But then afterwards the floors were really clean - the water that come out (bearing in mind I had only cleaned a couple of days earlier) was black so I felt like it did a great job. The floors also dried really fast, much better than a bucket and mop usually does. I was impressed with the results and it made me think that I would definitely use it again. I think ultimately though if I had paid £225 for the product I would have felt like I overpaid but I will use again as it will save time in the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features / Nifty product. I was given this product to test and review. I'd have to say there are more pro's than negatives and it's a really exciting product. The Pros is that it cleans a large service area, a great cable length and an easy to clean filter which is great for all of us in the family! It's convenient and doesn't over wet the floor (like my mother is use to doing without the product!) The negatives is if you have an uneven floor surface like tiles you'd see it catching from time to time but it also isn't a daily use item due to the set up of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant product for hard floors Having tried several floor tools and products to clean our tiled floors we decided to purchase the FC5... Wow what a difference this made in bringing the tiles back to new.. We can even see the original sparked in the tiles something my daughter noticed and she has now purchased a FC5 for her tiles....instead of hoovering first , then washing the floors and then re hoovering to pick up any waste....one use in 33% of the normal time brought brilliant results ... Ps your excellent customer service at your call centre will definitely we will continue to buy Karcher products ...we have 3 at present

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective at cleaning.....but heavy in hand.... I was provided the product to test, after using a couple of times it does a good job of cleaning both tiled and laminate flooring, my wife commented that the tiles in particular looked cleaner than using an alternative product. The ease of not vacuuming first does make a significant difference. Cable length is good. The product feels heavy in the hand when using it and cumbersome, while it has a pivoting head it's quite restrictive. The instructions are not the most intuitive to start with but once you have understood the sequence and the use of the stand as a water reservoir it's ok. After 2 uses one of the rollers has already come apart, replacements are not cheap so this very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean floors in no time at all I was sent the FC5 to review. I have light coloured laminate ,solid oak and vinyl flooring and few carpets in my property so feel I am able to comment on how the machine dealt with the various solid surfaces. Firstly the machine had to be assembled and I found the instructions clear and easy to follow. The FC5 is quite tall ( I am only 5ft tall) when standing in it's cleaning station but is fairly slim so takes up little floor space and is quite stable when stored between use. It has a clean uncluttered design and feels robust. The instructions say to hold onto the appliance firmly and I advise anyone using it for the first time to do that as it almost took off on it's own. Laminate offers little resistance! Once I got used to that the machine is a doodle to use . The fresh water tank uses the water sparingly and so will be economical if using detergent.( This is not supplied but can be bought from Kaercher) Even using just plain water the result has been impressive. The weather has been wet over the past few days so I was keen to see how the FC5 dealt with the accumulated grime inside the front door. It did not disappoint and the laminate has been left clean. Any remaining surface water soon dries leaving a streak free finish. Residual water was something I was concerned may be an issue for my sealed solid oak flooring but the FC5 doesn't leave much residual water ( and being plain water shouldn't affect the surface) so in future I am quite happy to continue cleaning this floor with the FC5. Apart from the laminate inside the front door, which I could see was becoming ingrained with dirt from wet shoes, I felt my floors to be in a reasonable state of cleanliness but from the water in the waste water tank I now know this to have been an illusion. Cleaning the floor is now going to take no longer than vacuuming a carpet even allowing for the drying time. One minute to clean the rollers in the cleaning station before storing the machine and job done. Being able to remove and machine wash the rollers is an advantage and I expect them to last a reasonable amount of time before needing replacing as the surfaces being cleaned are smooth.
