Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very efficient Looks good. Once you snap handle into the body you can't remove it to rebox. You are wiping the floor with cold or tepid water. I found the water left on surface after cleaning was dirty and had to wipe over entire surface before it dried. It's quite heavy and not free standing. Lay it down or slot into cradle. Two rollers similar to paint rollers have to be removed - fiddly - and air dried. I was left with impression that floor was not clean - I wiped them over to dry off and fully remove dirty water residue. Not impressed and I will not be using this machine in my home again Product Tester Club

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was sent this product to review and overall was left feeling a bit indifferent about the product. Firstly I really struggled to get the handle to click in to place, I literally spent a good 15 minutes trying to get the handle to "click" and stay there, but everytime it clicked it just come out again. In the end I decided that it must be broken and ended up cleaning without the handle being in properly so that every time I cleaned the handle kept coming out. I attempted it again using every bit of my strength and eventually it locked in to place, but I'm a pretty fit woman and I did wonder how my Nan would get on trying to do this herself. I found the instructions clear to use and I found setting up and using the product straight forward. It took a while to figure out that if I held the on button for long enough the machine would stay on by itself but originally I was having to keep the button held down which was aching my hand and there aren't any instructions to tell you otherwise. The cleaner struggled a bit going over uneven tiles, and I found if there was particularly stubborn stains that I had to put a lot of elbow grease in to it, which is quite difficult as the product I found to be quite heavy. By time I finished cleaning my arm was aching! I was also disappointed as the cleaner kept leaking out of the pipes from the water tank to the rollers and I thought if I had bought the product for £225 I would've been returning it. But then afterwards the floors were really clean - the water that come out (bearing in mind I had only cleaned a couple of days earlier) was black so I felt like it did a great job. The floors also dried really fast, much better than a bucket and mop usually does. I was impressed with the results and it made me think that I would definitely use it again. I think ultimately though if I had paid £225 for the product I would have felt like I overpaid but I will use again as it will save time in the long run.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient and easy to use Given product to test. Pros: doesn't over wet floor, good for large area, deep clean, good cable length, easy to clean filter, convenient. Cons: a bit noisy, catches on uneven tiles, not a daily use item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean floors in no time at all I was sent the FC5 to review. I have light coloured laminate ,solid oak and vinyl flooring and few carpets in my property so feel I am able to comment on how the machine dealt with the various solid surfaces. Firstly the machine had to be assembled and I found the instructions clear and easy to follow. The FC5 is quite tall ( I am only 5ft tall) when standing in it's cleaning station but is fairly slim so takes up little floor space and is quite stable when stored between use. It has a clean uncluttered design and feels robust. The instructions say to hold onto the appliance firmly and I advise anyone using it for the first time to do that as it almost took off on it's own. Laminate offers little resistance! Once I got used to that the machine is a doodle to use . The fresh water tank uses the water sparingly and so will be economical if using detergent.( This is not supplied but can be bought from Kaercher) Even using just plain water the result has been impressive. The weather has been wet over the past few days so I was keen to see how the FC5 dealt with the accumulated grime inside the front door. It did not disappoint and the laminate has been left clean. Any remaining surface water soon dries leaving a streak free finish. Residual water was something I was concerned may be an issue for my sealed solid oak flooring but the FC5 doesn't leave much residual water ( and being plain water shouldn't affect the surface) so in future I am quite happy to continue cleaning this floor with the FC5. Apart from the laminate inside the front door, which I could see was becoming ingrained with dirt from wet shoes, I felt my floors to be in a reasonable state of cleanliness but from the water in the waste water tank I now know this to have been an illusion. Cleaning the floor is now going to take no longer than vacuuming a carpet even allowing for the drying time. One minute to clean the rollers in the cleaning station before storing the machine and job done. Being able to remove and machine wash the rollers is an advantage and I expect them to last a reasonable amount of time before needing replacing as the surfaces being cleaned are smooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Karcher FC5 review Before I give you my review I must highlight that I didn’t initially read the manual as I am a typical bloke. The following is how I got on: 1) From out of box the cleaner is supplied in two parts, handle and main body of cleaner. The handle simply slides into the main housing of the cleaner (push fit) and clicks into place. I initially thought the supply cable connecting the two parts together may become trapped, yet there is grove in the housing that prevents this happening. 2) On the front of the cleaner is a holder for the water/cleaning solution mix. A small handle releases the container to allow it to be filled up via your tap. To refit the container, simply push it back into its original position and then its clips back into the cleaner. The container is almost clear so you can see the water/cleaner solution level. As this stage I did have to check the manual to ensure the cleaning solution was going into the correct container. 3) The back of the cleaner holds the dirty water and has a built is removable filter for the solids. This contain is attached via a small handle to release it. Per the clean water container, it can push fitted back into position. The container is almost clear so you can see when it is getting full. 4) The brushes can be accessed by removing a top cover above the brushes. You have to press a button on the cover then pull the cover away for the brushes. I must admit I found removing and refitting this part quite difficult and it took a few tries to get it to fit correctly back into position. So far I have not needed to remove this cover during use, so I believe it will on be need if the brushes wear out or there is a blockage in the cleaning fluid. 5) The cleaner is supplied with a black plastic base. This allows it to be stored upright without falling over. It take a little bit of practice to get them to fit together correctly but this will improve as I use it more. Performance: Using the cleaner was simple, pressing a button on the handle makes automatically runs, so there is no need to continually hold a button. To stop the cleaner, simply press the button again, easy. We have a laminate floor in our kitchen and with two small children so it soon becomes dirty. I was initially concerned by the small amount of water left after the cleaner, however this is a floor cleaner after all. The residue soon dried up and result are very good and is even more impressive when I saw the colour of the dirty water in container! Overall 9.5/10 rating

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time saving cleaning machine I was sent this product to test as part of the Kärcher Club product testers campaign. On opening the box, the initial setup was fairly straightforward. However the manual information was vague in places which was the only criticism of this item. If descriptions were added to correspond with pictures this would be a 10 out of 10 hard floor cleaner, as it would make it easier to use, especially for the first time. It has lots of brilliant qualities and saves a lot of time and effort in comparision to other products I have used before; mainly because it both vacuums and cleans the floor simultaneously. The product has been used to clean both laminate wood and ceramic tiles; both of which were cleaned very well with very little effort. Another positive feature is that it warms up very quickly, which stops any delays and allows you to start near enough immediately. It comes with a stand which allows for the cleaner to be stored quite easily. All in all I would would recommend this hard floor cleaner to anyone who wants a powerful tool, which is hassle-free giving good results on laminate, wooden floors and ceramic tiles

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time saving I was chosen to test this product by Karcher And to write a review. The build of the machine is quality and made easy for all. A quick read of the instructions and you're off. The weight of the product is no more than the average vaccume cleaner, if not lighter. I tried this product on my kitchen floor, which I swept and mopped the day before. I was surprised to see how much dirt a mop and bucket leaves behind when I emptied the cleaner. It also picks up small particles e.g. Bread crumbs. It glides effortlessly over the hard floors and leaves only a small layer of water which is dry within 10 minutes. So no more waiting to long after mopping! Cleaning the product is simple. I found my self asking, would I pay £225 for this when a mop and bucket is about £10? And the answer is yes. No more dirty, damp, smelly bactiria filled mop heads and it halves the time of cleaning, and as for storage you can throw away your mop and bucket and replace it with this with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent cleaning Easy to control around kitchen units and door frames. I thought my floor was clean until I used the FC5 only to find the colour of the water was very dirty. The floor was left damp after use which soon dried off. The build of the machine is as you would expect from Karcher, EXCELLENT.
