Cleaning work within the context of church tower renovation

Currently, St. Michael's Church in Waiblingen is undergoing extensive renovation. Within the scope of this work, the church tower was cleaned in line with conservation guidelines. Kärcher provide its support in the form of equipment and cleaning expertise.

Kärcher set up test surfaces in advance and developed a concept for careful cleaning of the church tower. To ensure optimum building preservation, removing the organic growth on the sensitive sandstone is important. This was gently cleaned off the church tower façade with the help of a hot water high-pressure cleaner on the steam setting. The HDS 13/20-4 S and HDS 12/18-4 S units were provided to the church for further cleaning free of charge, and the staff were trained in their operation.

 

 

 

 

St. Michael's Church

The Gothic Protestant St. Michael's Church in Waiblingen (in the past also referred to as the Great or Outer Church) is the largest and oldest church in the city. Hans von Landau started construction on the present church building in about 1440. Characteristic is the striking steeple, which was built around 1462 and has a total height of 52 metres. It has been undergoing renovation since the beginning of the year and work will be completed by November.
