After downloading the app to your mobile device, you can link your app account with your indoor robot. To do this, you first need to set up the network, i.e. define the path for the flow of information between your app account and your indoor robot via our server. To do this, you need to connect your mobile device, your app account, and your indoor robot to your Wi-Fi network.
The following data will be collected as part of the network configuration:
- App name
- Network card address (MAC), operating system and version
- SSID, network system, displayed IP address, location, time zone, and time of sending the network configuration request to our server from the same Wi-Fi network that your mobile device and your indoor robot also access
- Model, SN code, and MAC address of your indoor robot
- Status and error type of your network configuration.
4. Use of Kärcher indoor robot systems
The basic business functions of the Kärcher indoor robot systems that we offer you consist of:
- all functions of your indoor robot (depending on product specifications)
- the app linked to your indoor robot to control and record the operation of the product and
- the communication and processing for the use and operation of the app and the indoor robot linked to the app.
Personal data is processed by us particularly in the following situations so that we can implement the following functions securely and effectively:
1. Cleaning function
When you use the cleaning function of the indoor robot, we collect information about the layout of your house or apartment and settings for the cleaning surface, cleaning mode, suction level, and water consumption so that the device can clean the desired area. We also collect information about your cleaning schedule (for example, planned duration and settings for cleaning) so that the planned cleaning activities can be carried out within the specified time frame.
2. Recording and displaying cleaning information
When you use your indoor robot, we may collect and record information about your cleaning processes, including the total number of cleaning processes each with date, time, route, surface, duration, and zone (captured via radar scans and your input) for each cleaning process. This information is used to display the cleaning history of the product. We collect information about the cleaning progress to show you the usage history and explain the surface, duration, and zone for each cleaning process as well as the cumulative cleaning time and total number of cleaning processes.
3. Cleaning map and obstacle avoidance
When you use your indoor robot with the obstacle avoidance function, it will capture objects in front of it with the camera to generate characteristic information (contour of the object and geometric features) so that the robot can recognize what type of object it is. The device will determine the room type based on the recognized types of furniture to assist you in naming the room on the map. The maps created for completed cleaning processes can be managed and edited in the app.
4. AI-based object detection and obstacle avoidance
When you use your indoor robot with the AI-based object detection function, the camera of the device will capture image data about the objects in front of the device and generate properties for recognition in fractions of a second. Once the various types of objects have been recognized, the device can make a decision and avoid obstacles during the cleaning process. The captured images will then be deleted immediately. You can choose whether to activate the detection function and whether the identified items should be displayed on the cleaning map. These images are only used for creating cleaning maps and avoiding obstacles, and not for any other purposes.
5. Real-time camera / microphone
When you use your Indoor robot with the real-time camera function, the camera will record a video of the surroundings (e.g. interior or people in the respective room), which can be viewed in real-time via the app. This function is used to control the cleaning process (e.g. to check the cleaning status). You still have the option to save photos and videos from the real-time camera on your smartphone. The videos are neither stored locally nor uploaded to a server. Through the microphone of your mobile device, you have the option to establish a voice connection via your indoor robot.
6. Feedback and support
If you use the integrated feedback function in the app to send us feedback or log files regarding the Kärcher indoor robot systems, we process the information you provide to address your concerns and improve our products and services.
This includes:
- Your email address for contacting you and responding to your feedback.
- Photos uploaded by you (e.g. to illustrate a problem or an improvement idea) and log files
- The feedback text you submitted in writing.
The processing of this data serves to capture, analyze, and rectify deficiencies as well as to generally improve the app and robot functions. The uploaded photos will only be used for the specific purpose of processing the feedback and will be deleted afterwards, unless there are legal retention obligations or the storage is necessary for resolving an identified problem.
When you use the Kärcher indoor robot system, the app or the indoor robot will therefore store the following data so that you can use the Kärcher indoor robot system without transmitting this data to us. This data includes:
- Storage plan
- Software version

You can decide for yourself whether you want to provide certain information. However, in most cases, we may not be able to offer you the corresponding services without providing such information, or we may not be able to respond to a problem you encounter.
Some of the indoor robots we offer support 'device sharing'. Through this, app account holders (i.e., the shared users) connected to these devices can share control equally with other app account holders (i.e., the shared users). If you are a shared user, your app account controls the indoor robots linked to other app accounts through the 'device sharing' function. For the purposes of this declaration, these indoor robots are considered as your indoor robots. For clarification: This privacy policy applies to all uses of such household robots by the releasing common user as well as by the common users who take advantage of this release.
